Making Changes to the Exterior

Who doesn’t need this form:

  • Light painting: Touch up, refresh painting.
  • Replacing existing exterior lights in similar size.
  • Small accent paint changes such as house number plate.

About You

Fill in this section to provide current contact information about your Bridlewood home.

Exterior Painting

For exterior painting projects, indicate the color scheme for each of the home's painting areas. Use descriptive names such as Sage Green, White, etc. along with sample color card info if available. To submit, scan or take a photo of the sample color card and upload below.

Fence Replacement or Repair Request

Fences surround front and back yards of each Bridlewood home. Replacement and staining projects impact your neighbors! Be sure you have notified your adjoining neighbor(s) during this process.

To maintain the cohesive and consistent look in Bridlewood, fence choices are limited to the wood cedar and a small stain selection. If your considerations lay outside the list below, read more about fence guidelines here.

Before your fence replacement changes, please complete the following.

Front: Gate to side yard and front door corridor. Back: Common neighboring fences and connection between.

Shared Party Wall and Fence Guideline:

Use the illustrations below to help determine your fence and shared wall. In simple terms, your Party Wall neighbor is on the same side as your side yard gate.

Other Architectural Change Project Request

By the covenants of Bridlewood, you may be required to notify the ACC of projects that affect the street view and neighbors, such as attached awnings, trellises, flag pole or new permanent lights (not replacing existing side lights). Your project must take our shared party walls into account. If your project requires a city of Tumwater permit, it is advised you complete this ACC section. Failure to follow the guidelines could result in removal of changes.

Drawings showing project location and details can be uploaded as a supporting document.

Read more on these guidelines for other architectural change projects here.

Neighbor Notification*

This pertains to all ACC projects: Painting, Fence and other improvements.

You are obligated to contact your neighbors and sign here as having fulfilled the notification. Not requesting their participation may result in unwelcome complaints and/or costly remedies later.

The importance of this step is to advise your neighbors who own property adjacent, facing or impacted by the improvement to your property line that modifications are proposed. With our Bridlewood common lot line, you are likely to need access to their property in order to complete the work. Once your project is approved, the ACC recommends you provide at least two (2) weeks notice before the work begins to request access to your adjoining neighbor's property.

The ACC reserves the right to call neighboring parties to confirm their notification as part of the approval process. Neighbor input shall only be advisory and not be binding in any way on the Architectural Committee’s decision. If you or your neighbor has questions about the process, contact any Architectural Committee member.

1. No work on this request shall commence until written approval of the Architectural Committee has been received.

3. Within 30 days of completion of improvements, I will notify the Architectural Committee in writing of such completion in order for the Committee to make its inspection as to compliance with approved plans and specifications.
4. That the “Conditions of Approval” section of the Architectural Standards for my community shall apply to any approval.
5. That adjoining lot line neighbors will be kept informed of project status and to respect their property access.
