Board of Directors
Bridlewood is governed by a volunteer five member Board of Directors as outlined the By-Laws of Bridlewood Owners Association with support of a management agent.
These dedicated individuals come together for the “good of the order” in our neighborhood. It’s a world of fiscal responsibility, policy updates and finding ways to enhance the experiences of local living. Not always an easy
task, but very rewarding. With a core Board membership rotation, new members have plenty of room to learn and grow during their tenure.
If you spy them walking the sidewalks in Bridlewood be sure to say hello and thank you!
2023-2024 Board of Directors
Each March at the annual Homeowners meeting, elections are held to fill expiring Board of Director positions. Members are elected to two-year terms. Term by positions is staggered so that either two or three members remain on the board
each year, providing continuity from year to year. Board members may serve more than one term.
THE PRESIDENT shall preside at all meetings of the Board of Directors; shall see that orders and resolutions of the Board are carried out; shall sign all leases, mortgages, deeds and other written
instruments. (Bridlewood by-laws)

I was born in Seattle a 5th generation Washingtonian and we moved to Olympia in 9th grade. I graduated from Puget Sound with majors in political science, sociology, US history and minor in math and English.
I taught every grade except 6th and helped write the state standardized tests in English and the social studies guidelines. I wrote curriculum for the state on how to teach elections and few other topics.
I have one daughter who is married to an extremely tolerant man and they have a 7 year old daughter who is deservedly spoiled. I moved to Bridlewood when I retired to be closer to family and help with spoiling. I have learned to love walking the dog, I ski I read and I really need to travel!
THE VICE-PRESIDENT shall act in the place and stead of the President in the event of his absence, inability or refusal to act, and shall exercise and discharge such other duties as may be required of him by the Board. (Bridlewood by-laws)

I’ve been a Bridlewood resident since Nov. 2019. I work full-time for the Department of Labor and Industries in the IT Division. I got settled here just in time for Covid and have been working remotely since then. I inherited my 10 year old Havanese named Mia from my mom 2 years ago. She loves treat puzzles and sitting on my lap when she’s not watching the neighborhood out the front window.
I also have 3 grown kids and a 10 year old granddaughter.
When I’m not reading or hanging out with family, I like to quilt and I’m learning to paint.
THE TREASURER shall receive and deposit in appropriate bank accounts all monies of the Association and shall disburse such funds as directed by resolution of the Board of Directors; shall sign all checks and promissory notes of the Association; keep proper books of account; cause an annual compilation of the financial statements of the Association books to be made by a public accountant at the completion of each fiscal year; and shall prepare an annual budget and a statement of income and expenditures to be presented to the membership at its regular annual meeting, and deliver a copy of each to any member upon request. The responsibilities of the Treasurer may be performed by a management company, if the Board so contracts, with oversight responsibilities performed by the Treasurer. (Bridlewood by-laws)

Born in Florida in 1951, I’ve lived on the west coast since 1958, in Portland since 1990, and in Tumwater since 2022 (our 1 year old grand daughter lives 20 minutes from us = motivation to move!). After growing up working in the food business, my last 35 years found me self employed as a franchise owner, and then as a leading business and management consultant to new and emerging franchise companies. I retired from full time work in March of 2023.
I’ve been fortunate to be married to the love of my life, Martha, for over 45 years. We’ve been very lucky to have 2 amazing daughters, both of whom are married to excellent mates, and all have great careers.
Along the way, Martha and I have had many adventures … as home remodelers, aircraft pilots, antique car enthusiasts, skiers, and sailing and power boaters. We both look forward to serving the Bridlewood community.
THE MEMBER -AT-LARGE is Bridlewood’s fifth Board member, Member-at-Large. S/he serves in capacity for other activities to carry forth the responsibilities of the Board of Directors.

I moved to Bridlewood in 2018 after decades of West Olympia living! Now retired, my most recent work life was as a private bereavement and life coach. The joy in my life are two grandsons and family who live nearby. I try to stay out of trouble by puttering in the back yard, remodeling, working on a few crafty hobbies plus cooking and eating a good meal.
As a way to meet neighbors and learn, I joined the Landscape Committee almost immediately. As volunteers have moved away, Landscape Committee responsibilities have grown to include irrigation and the tree project. Fortunately, I do not do this alone! Bridlewood has great committee volunteers to share work and decisions to keep the grounds green!
Last year I started Bridlewood’s Community Development Committee as an extension for neighbors getting to know neighbors. I believe it contributes to our overall safety factor as well. In addition, I set up the Bridlewood website to expand our neighbor to Board communications – always a work in progress.
I join the Board of Directors in 2023 as a fill in for a vacancy until 2024 elections. I hope to encourage participation by neighbors to keep Bridlewood happy and friendly. If you have a idea,
ask me how!
